Life in Grenoble

So even though we spend most of our time wandering about the world, we do live in a pretty lovely place.  So I thought I would share some of it with you.

Eavesdropping Eel

Some people I know, including myself, make a face when they are listening in on others' conversations.  I think this little dude has it down pat.
Oh, what are they saying

I can't believe it!

Blennies!!!!

If you haven't encountered blennies, oh are you missing out.  Blennies are super cute, but very little and a bit hard to find at times.  So the key is either knowing what blennies eat or a good guide (always a plus on a dive trip).  Normally you usually just see their heads popping out, but they are super cute and have pretty expressive faces, so it makes fun macro photography.  Here are a few my super dive guide Eddie found for me in Honduras.

When Damselfish attack

We were used to "When Nemo Attacks", but there are no clown fish in Roatan, but there are Damselfish, and they do not enjoy you being near their nests.   First this little lady's attention was on Andrew, but then she turns her attention to me...

Post-op

Tiger is serving as my nunu, French slang for nanny.   She is never more than a few feet away.  I can get around on my crutches, and I'm doing my exercises, so here's to speedy recovery.

New sort of adventure

Today I'm headed to the hospital for my knee surgery.  I don't know what to expect, but I am sure it will be informative!

On our way home

We are heading home for 9 days before we begin the annual English family visit.  Unusually for a layover in London, we aren't yet in the pub...with a five hour layover, I suppose there is plenty of time.  Someone is hard at work....

Yellow headed jawfish

I was obsessed with this little dudes during our trip to Roatan, they were just so adorable.  They remind me of little ghosts.
Now you can see their still cuteness

Just adorable

Pufferfish

I love puffer fish.  They are just so adorable, and they look like they are always smiling.  I like that level of positivity from a fish.

Lobsters

Roatan is home to some of the largest lobsters I've ever seen.  They are actually spiny lobsters.  And damn, they are huge.  They look like something from outer space.  They lurk under overhangs and you'll often first, just see their antennae
There he is....out to get you!

You actually often find them in little groups.  I kind of  like the three that are hanging out upside down.

Shark Dive

While we were in Roatan, we had the opportunity to do a shark dive.  The sharks get a little treat and we get the opportunity to watch them in all of their glory.

Coming to get you :-)

Greetings from our current adventure in Roatan, where we've been diving with sharks, finding rare fish, and generally having a good time.
The eye of a scorpion fish

A rare photo of the two of us.  I am on the right.

Lion fish, here they are pests, but part of the natural environment in the pacific
